Folger copy: edges trimmed, affecting manuscript quiring. Large initials on recto of 2nd leaf and on verso of 4th leaf provided in red and blue with red penwork infill; all other initials in red. Numbering of "Distinctiones" added by hand in brown ink in table of contents at beginning of each book; some occasional annotations in text; early manuscript quiring throughout. Inscription on front pastedown "Liber herma[n]ni drehus al[ia]s halffwassen presbiteri. Ancille p[rae]no[m]i[n]ati presbiteri dederu[n]t hoc volume[n] domui Castrim[ar]ie ord[inis] carthusien[sis] anno millesimo ccccco."; bookplate of Robert Buchanan Stewart with monogram and motto "Ubi thesaurus ibi cor", and his bibliographical notes on back pastedown (no. 1044 in the Sotheby sale catalog of his library, Apr. 1888); bookplate of W.T. Smedley; purchased in 1924. In a contemporary North German calf binding from Westphalia, blind tooled with fleur-de-lis, lamb, pelican etc. (See Schwenke-Schunke Lilie 204, Schrift 129, etc.) Cf.
