First leaf, blank, lacking; gathering t misbound reading: t1, t3 (unsigned), t2 (signed t3), t4, t5, t7, t6, t8. A few manuscript notes in brown ink, some of them indicating misbinding in gathering t. Bibliographic notes about this ed. in Italian and Latin on front pastedown, ending "... a. 1766 ([?] Fabricius)" Original Italian sheep- or goatskin binding, blind tooled, with remains of a clasp on fore-edge catching on back cover, and evidence of a plate from a chain at foot of back cover; manuscript vellum fragments of statutes of a city with annotations (14th cent.?) previously used as pastedowns, at beginning and end of the book; black ink shelfmark at head of back cover "N.[?] 26"; edges stained red; rebacked. Inscription at foot of leaf A2r, defaced, partially illegible "Della libreria [...?]"; another inscription at head of the same p. "J. H. Hammond. Florence. 25th Nov. 1836", and bookplate "James H. Hammond" on back pastedown.
