Last leaf, blank, lacking; worming throughout the book, partially affecting text. Initials rubricated in red, with a few exceptions in blue; capital strokes, paragraph marks at head of each incipit and explicit and some underlining of headings provided in red. Early manuscript notes and underlining in brown ink. Contemporary German sheepskin binding blind tooled with diamond shaped stamps of griffin, hound (Schwenke-Schunke Hund 30a), heart (Schwenke-Shunke Herz 100), and rosette stamps on both covers; evidence of 2 clasps; manuscript fragments used as pastedowns, wormed, partially illegible, one of them mentioning the abbeys of Nordhausen and Hildesheim; some vellum guards; repaired several times; rebacked; in a tailored box. Bookstamps "Ex Bibl. Univ. Viad. Vrat." and " Doublette aus der Bresl: Universitäts Bibliothek" on leaf a2r; bookplates of George Dunn and W.T. Smedley; George Dunn's initials pencilled with date "July 1902" on free endpaper (no. 788 in pt. 2 of the Sotheby Sale catalog of his library, Feb. 1914). Purchased in 1924.
