Imperfect, lacking all leaves after gathering U; upper edge of leaf []1 damaged, affecting early inscription on recto, and text on verso of the leaf. Initials rubricated in red; 1st initial in red with yellow; some underlining, brackets, paragraph marks, manicules and manuscript notes in same red paint; printed paragraph marks and capitals rubricated in yellow throughout the book. Extensive manuscript notes in brown ink, in several hands, manicules and occasional underlining throughout. Marks of ownership and other inscription, crossed out, partially illegible on title page "Questa ãngelica e, de frate ..."; also a bookstamp on t.p., partially erased, illegible "Bibl [ ... ?] Fulg [ ... ]" (for Foligno?). 15th century Italian goatskin binding, blind tooled with 2 brass clasps (straps replaced) ; central panel on front cover has 1 central stamp (worn), is surrounded by a border with angular strapwork roll and an outer border with scattered small round flowers and cross stamps; double central panel on back cover made up with similar stamps and surrounded by same borders; handwritten shelfmark on top of back cover "No 368" in brown ink, repeated below in red paint; 1st gathering repaired; in a tailored box. Bookplate of W.T. Smedley; purchased in 1924.
