Folger-specific note
Folger copy 18 wants [superscript pi]A1 and [superscript pi]A1+1 (title leaf); supplied in facsim., with the leaves toned and the facsim. letterpress traced over with pen and ink. (The facsim. of [superscript pi]A1 is inlaid, the facsim. of [superscript pi]A1+1 mounted.) Genuine port. (in state 3) mounted on facsim. title page. All prelim. leaves ruled in manuscript Leaf [supercript pi]A4 is misbound after [superscript pi] A5. Leaves 3b3-6 probably supplied from another copy. Letterpress of 3b6r traced over with pen and ink and partly restored in manuscript facsim.; tailpiece partly restored in manuscript facsim. Leaves 3b3-6 toned. Leaves K2, S3, h3, 2e6, and 2f4 are supplied from another copy or copies; probably supplied is K1 and perhaps 16 other leaves. Imperfections affect text on A5, C3, L4, t3, 2p3, and 2v2 and slightly affect text on D6, I2, T4, V2, a6, 2m6, and 2s5. See curatorial file for additional information, including variations not recorded here. "Sir John Eliot 1781" (on lower flyleaf).
