Engraved title page and 19 numbered prints, illustrating Renaissance inventions. Several prints include detailed scenes of early modern workshops. The individual prints depict the discovery of America (featuring Amerigo Vespucci holding an astrolabe and staff with a banner of the cross, addresses a naked female wearing a feathered hat, representing America, on a hammock), Flavio Gioia's invention of the compass, the invention of gunpowder, the invention of book printing, the invention of the clockwork, the discovery of guaicum as a cure for venereal infection, the invention of distillation, the production of silk, the invention of stirrups, the invention of the watermill, the invention of the windmill, the invention of the olive oil press, the invention of sugar refinery, the invention of oil painting, the invention of eyeglasses, the discovery and establishment of the longitudes, the invention of the polishing of armor, Amerigo Vespucci discovering the Southern Cross with an astrolabium, and the invention of copper engraving.
