Contemporary maroon velvet with silver clasps (partially restored), corners and center plates, with the engraved crest of the Earl of Oxford on front cover; on back cover, a center plate of quartered pointed shield, ribboned coronet and a star. Provenance: probably Edward De Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford copy; purchased in 1925 from Bernard Halliday, Leicester.
