Additional material: 17 pages of manuscript texts (including 7 pages of English verse and 5 of Latin verse) and 4 pages of hand-colored prints (including two engravings by Crispijn van de Passe the Elder), appearing before and after the printed text, on the transitory nature of life. Some leaves, including the title page, have been daubed with now-tarnished lead white, some of which are a support to writing in gold ink. Autograph: Jeff. Gilbert. On last page of text: '1605.' In contemporary calf with gold tooling and device stamped on cover; rebacked with red leather spine label.
