Related works: A drawing, preparatory to the painting, is listed in Schiff 1973, no. 814. Now in the collection of the Jan Krugier Gallery, New York and Geneva, it measures 51.5 by 46 centimeters, and the composition cuts off the balustrade at the bottom.
