Exhibited: Society of British Artists, 1827, 376, as "376 Sir John Falstaff at Justice Shallow's in Gloucestershire, selecting his Recruits / Bardolph-'Hold, Wart traverse thus, thus, thus.'" It is possible that this was the Folger picture.
